Over the past three years at Northern Kentucky University’s School of the Arts, I have steadily grown my skillset in wig construction and styling. Under the mentorship of Missy J. White, I’ve gained experience in styling, ventilating, creating buckram bases, roller setting, washing, and maintaining wigs throughout a show’s run. I also assisted Missy J. White in designing the wigs for NKU SOTA’s recent mainstage production of Oklahoma! and later went on to style many of them. Additional wig work of mine includes ventilating a lace front for Mary Magdalene in Jesus Christ Superstar, styling finger waves for Erma in Anything Goes, and serving on the wig crew for 9 to 5—all with NKU SOTA.
